We’re getting ready to head out of town to celebrate our anniversary but when I saw these ruby red carnations and white mums in the grocery store I couldn’t resist them. I immediately wanted to show you how to do a pretty 4th of July table using these inexpensive flowers as my inspiration.
I brought the flowers home, laid them on my kitchen island and went and pulled out the coke bottles I used for centerpieces at Patrick’s graduation party a few years back.
Then I cut a runner using pinking shears on some red and white ticking I already had. I’d originally bought the fabric for a pillow-I-never-made and I thought it would go perfectly on a casual table.
I brought out the napkins I’ve used at Christmas—they’re red with white stitching…
I cut up some paper towel rolls and made these cute firecracker place cards-party favors for the table. If you missed this post you can click HERE to see how I made these.
I tied last year’s ribbon on a lantern from the bookshelf and bought a few 50 cent flags to slip into a couple bottles…
I think my favorite thing about this table is the red and white ticking with these flowers…
I just can’t stop smiling when I see them inside the coke bottles.
What do you think?

The red and white ticking is my fav...
Mind you I love the old coke bottles.
I remember them coming out of a coke machine so cold....
Great minds think alike! I just ironed my red & white table runner and brought out my vintage soda bottle to add to a shelf in the dining room. :)
Your table looks beautiful!!
Adorable...especially the Coke bottles, so cute :)
Oh how pretty! I especially love the coke bottles too! And something as simple as ribbon on a lantern makes all the difference! I always love your attention to detail! Have a wonder 4th celebration!
SUCH a beautiful table setting- perfect for an outdoor simple celebration. I just love it and love your style. Looking forward to checking out the rest of your blog!
Great tablescape and I love the idea of ticking as a runner. How fun. Thanks tons for joining Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
Your table is perfect.
We don't decorate our own table for the 4th because our street has a BBQ for everyone and anyone right on the beach. I am making my homemade chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches.
Happy Anniversary
You a amazing! I love the coke bottles. I must say I don't celebrate Italian national day, or even Australian national day, anymore! Though I always feel a twinge on 14th July if I'm in Paris. Does that make sense? Xcat
Perfectly patriotic. Love those litte firecrackers. Have a wonderful 4th.
