pretty and pink

DSC_1155copy4

I don’t usually decorate for Valentine’s day.

But it’s my turn to host the dinner for our monthly Box Club group and since it’s so close to V-Day I couldn’t resist getting girly with my décor. Remember, I don’t have girls, so I never get to decorate with pink and frilly around my house.

So I’m loving it.

And along with the shabby chic tablescape I’ve got planned, I thought I’d add a few special touches in the dining room.

This banner was so simple I had to share it with you. And the best part is that it costs pennies to make because all you need is crepe paper and string. You can make it as full as you like, or with any colors you choose.

I also couldn’t resist hanging a few paper doilies from the chandelier.

Because what’s Valentine’s Day without lacy, heart shaped doilies?

Personally I think my glass of wine will taste better when I’ve got hearts dangling in my face.

I’ll post more photos of this room and my tablescape soon.

Bye for now,

  3. Love your Box Club idea - and of course your banner.

I was thinking about what to send my daughter fo V-Day. We talked today (instead of the usual texts)
and I asked her what she wanted for V-Day. She said, "oh, don't worry about it. I charged a sweater on your JCrew card!"

So much for making her a Box full of things!

  6. I love it! I think wine would taste much better with the dangling hearts too. I'm thinking you doubled them, right? Such a great idea!

  7. Love the doilies. I don't usually do Valentines Day as I'm either wildly in love, or wildly out of it. Plus in Italy it's Carnevale week so this really takes over.

Funnily enough my fourteen-year-old asked me yesterday What would you like for Valentines Day? Sweet!

  10. My five year old is all about decorating for any holiday and I've been looking for an idea that won't make me hope that the holiday will soon be over when I look at it everyday in my home(I know I'm so mean!). The streamer banner is such a fantastic idea!
