eclectic cottage Christmas tour 2015

I want to begin this post by thanking all of you for being so incredibly supportive.

I haven’t been able to keep up my blogging schedule lately and still, you bless me with your visits. I just want you to know how much I appreciate YOU—and how much it means to me that I keep this little place in the blog world so we can keep connecting.

For those of you who are wondering about that fixer upper we bought last year, well…today I thought I’d share a few Christmas photos.

I really pared my decorating down this year…honestly, I was just too tired to go scour through Christmas decorations after all that work moving everything around for our new floors. And things are still not put away.

But at least you can see that our TV wall is finally done... along with some simple decorations.

I hope you enjoyed some of our recent changes. A cheerful blue and white rug I found at a Newport Beach consignment shop. Two white slipcovered chairs bought from an estate sale.

The hardware that finally got put on our living room cabinets.

And of course, the big dramatic change from the new wood floors. We still have to get baseboards installed. And for those of you who asked, we chose engineered wood because apparently being close to the ocean means lots of moisture.

I plan on sharing some Before and After pictures--especially of our TV wall.

But for now I’m off to finish my shopping because yep, I'm one of those still wrapping presents to the very end.

Wishing you a safe and peaceful Christmas surrounded by those you love.

xo

Your home looks like a completely different place from the fixer-upper you moved into a mere year ago, Leslie! You've worked your magic and created a fresh new look that I'm in awe of. The built-ins, the greenery on your chandelier, your bright white kitchen, your floors, furniture, rugs....I love it all!! I know how hard it is to keep up with everything when you've got so much going on in your life, and I thank you for taking the time to share your charming beach cottage with us. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas!

Vickie

It's all lovely, Leslie. And I don't blame you for going the "less is more" route. I love all the light and bright walls with those amazing floors! I'm looking forward to seeing more. Have a wonderful Christmas!

I simply can't say enough about your photos of your holiday decor, Leslie, as I don't remember seeing any photos of your new home. I've been remiss on blogging so I only have myself to blame. I love everything! I spied a few starfish on your tree and that makes me smile for those of you near the ocean! Your kitchen is awesome and all of your lovely touches are falling into place. I can't wait to see more as you get more settled in. As always, we seem so much alike..I the things slow and am hesitant to get overwhelmed with adding anything and everything to a room.

I'm wishing you and yours a very Merry christmas with this comment. I absolutely love out friendship!

How lovely, Leslie! You have such a sense of peaceful, harmonious style...you have created a beautiful home. I love how the tv wall turned out, and the beautiful floors...and your Christmas decor is so pretty! I actually took some things out of my decorating, to get even more of a peaceful feeling here...and it is the first year in recent memory that I have everything done early. I am looking forward to baking tomorrow...just for the fun of it! I hope you have a lovely Christmas with your family and a blessed new year...xoxo

Hi Leslie,
My favorite pic is the one with the giant E on the wall. Love it. Your house looks so beautiful.
I haven't written much either lately, some work stuff going on, and it's brought me down a bit. I keep thinking i will get back into it but then I don't, and so frankly, I'm not sure what the New Year will bring. I like visiting your blog and seeing your beautiful pictures, and reading your posts. You have a great sense of humour, humility, and wryness. It is difficult to choose writing sometimes over other things. I am determined that the blog should not be a place of struggle but of release. So I've had to leave it be for a while. I also don't want to always write about struggle, which lately seems to be the theme for me. I hope 2016 will have some answers, and I'm looking forward to continuing to visit your blog for inspiration. Thanks so much for creating some a great space for all of us. xx Nancy

It is a pleasure to see your home looking so charming and cozy. I know it's been a tremendous amount of effort to make this happen and it is simply lovely. I love the fresh paint, beautiful floors and all of your holiday touches, Leslie. I'm with Nancy, that 'E' is fantastic! Thank you for sharing the process of creating such beauty in your space.
Wishing you and yours a fabulous 2016, dear Leslie!
