harvest table setting: rustic & elegant

DSC_0802copy

Would you like to come to my home for a little tete-a-tete?

I’ve already got the table decorated in warm shades of Autumn. Just for you. Now we just have to decide on the wine….

The other day I stopped by the wholesale flower shop in search of some Cinderella pumpkins and I was floored by the gorgeous flowers everywhere. There are certain places that fill me with pure happiness and flower shops are one of those.

I couldn’t resist bringing home a bunch of hydrangeas in shades of aged parchment and smoky pinks.

While I was there I also bought a white birch shell for my centerpiece and this became the inspiration for this rustic harvest table setting.

If you’re a regular here you know how much I love to style tables and give you ideas you can use in your own home. In the next post I’ll show you how I put this centerpiece together but today is a picture day.

When you come into my kitchen you can see that I’ve set our table out in the patio. The weather has been beautiful here in Northern California, so sunny and warm and I thought you’d enjoy eating al fresco on the rustic table I made with my Dad.

  2. Wow, girl! Just magnificent, all of it! Your talents are many.

FYI, my blog address has changed. If you have me in your sidebar, you will have to go in and edit the link address. I'm having some regrets about doing this, but it can't be undone. Same blog, just new address.

  13. I've been wondering whether to cut the last of my hydrangeas which have the same hues, and put them in a vase on our big table. You've convinced me! Xcat

  15. Good morning Leslie-
I'm still smiling that I greeted you as 'Gwen' on one of your previous, thought provoking posts. ;) That centerpiece is so gorgeous I had to 'pin it' on my tablescapes board. You are indeed gifted in creating a lovely, welcoming space. I must know-was that the wholesale flower market near Arden in Sacramento? I went there a couple of times with my mom in prep for her wedding. Great place!
I'm off to catch a plane to Newport Beach for the weekend.
    Enjoy!
    xx, Heather

  19. Absolutely gorgeous as always. So happy to see that table again and in action. I cannot wait to complete the next step in our backyard design. I will be revisiting that post to get inspiration on building my own table. I will admit Leslie that I am so envious that you get to eat outdoors at this time of year!!
    Have a great weekend.
