Are you in the mood for a little wedding talk? How about a wedding with a rustic-chic theme? Where the bride and groom say their wedding vows on a woodsy hillside overlooking a shimmering lake?
Well, I forgot to mention it but I’m going to be doing the flower centerpieces for a wedding coming up in the first week of April.
we plan on using the bride’s collection of mason jars for the centerpieces
The bride is a actually a relative of my dear, old friend Kirsten, and she called one day and asked if I’d be willing to help her do the flowers. And of course I couldn’t resist.
In fact, we decided since we love flower arranging so much, and since we’ve done so many events together in the past, maybe we should…you know. Try to buy the flowers wholesale. Well…one thing led to another and now we have a business license and a business name …
called….ta da!!!!… Blooming Love Floral Design. Isn’t that a blast?
Burlap runners are perfect for a rustic chic wedding. Click HERE for this burlap tutorial.
I’ll keep you posted on where this leads us, but for now we’re happily focused on Ann and Ryan, who might be the most adorable couple I’ve ever met. The other evening we finally had a chance to sit down with Ann and hear some of her thoughts.

And considering that Ann (who is a professional dancer and ballet teacher) is smack in the middle of rehearsals for an important, upcoming dance production she was amazingly sweet and calm.

These are some of the topics we had fun discussing….
Since their vows will be outside, the idea of an arch came up. Last I heard, the groom was going to make something. Talk about adding personal touches to your day, it doesn’t get better than that…

How’s this for an entrance? And I love that copper pot.

We also tossed around some possible ideas for table numbers and escort cards.
There are so many creative ways to incorporate your personality and set a tone for your wedding. Don’t you love these escort cards with vintage keys?
I think this old suitcase with baby’s breath looks so fresh and pretty.
For this wedding each table had a name; the table names were actually words the bride and groom had learned in another language. They used a large mirror and satin ribbons to create a simple and lovely way for guests to find their tables.
How to display your table numbers? Let me count the rustic and chic ways….
A vintage fork to hold your number? Who would have thought?
Have you ever seen a antique door knob used to display a table number? I want to make one of these! You can see how they made this right HERE.
Ann has a collection of corks we plan on using…isn’t this clever?
Now look at this. A vintage mailbox sits on the gift table so guests have a place to put their cards. The wedding date is on it too. What a perfect rustic touch!

What do you prefer, paper bunting or tissue balls overhead?
Do you notice those satin ribbons on the chairs? Ribbons are so simple to add for such an impact, don’t you think?

Personally I like to see a special-little-something on the bride and groom’s chairs.
I think weddings are such a wonderful opportunity for a couple to tell their story. Photos hung with clothespins. Table numbers that are actually sentimental dates…

table numbers with photos on back…
And isn’t this a special touch?
When I saw this idea I had to share it with you. What a touching way to remember (and include) a loved one on your wedding day.

And here’s one last idea I absolutely love. This photo got texted to the groom right before the wedding began. Can you imagine the groom’s face? Too cute!
I’d better stop myself now because I’m afraid to count how many photos I put in this post. But I hope you had fun looking at them. And I’ll keep you posted on Ann and Ryan’s wedding, it’s coming up quickly. We’re going flower shopping next week!
blessings to you my friend,
xoxo

I'm sure you'll do splendid. Beautiful inspiration photos.
As for me, weddings make me nervous. I used to do some wedding photography and I discovered there are just too many dang people to please. Geez! I guess that's why I now avoid going to weddings whenever possible, although a rustic wedding sounds lovely.
How beautiful, especially that door leading to the new world. Almost makes me feel like getting married again..or depressed that I'm not! Xcat
Let me just say, I don't think there is anything like a rustic wedding! My daughter had her wedding in an old horse barn, so beautiful indeed. Everything so light and airy, so many possibilities indeed.
Have fun with the flowers.
Michele
Yay for you, Leslie!!! this will be so much fun, and I'm excited to see how all this takes place. Glad you went for the business license part, it will save you so much money! LOVE all your wonderful wedding inspiration images!!
Oh my goodness, I LOVE weddings today - so personal, creative and fun! I enjoyed every moment of the process with Megan. Her wedding was at a lovely winery and it was jam packed with more details than I can count and that was in the days before Pinterest. Not sure how we'd narrow down the inspiration now. It makes me smile to think about it, we just had so much fun! ... And now you have a brand new business, how awesome! I know you will be wildly successful! Please share lots of pictures!
