Hello friends.
If you saw my Instagram feed yesterday you probably caught a glimpse of the seeded Eucalyptus bunch peeking out around my coffee mug.
Yessss!
I finally found some while I was out on errands and don't ask me why I can't find a single grocery store around here that carries fresh eucalyptus---but at this point, this stuff has become way too important in my flower-fixated head.
So of course, when I finally got my hands on a bunch
("oh my gosh you-have-it-here?!")
I did what every normal floraphile (made up word) does with their fresh eucalyptus.
I hung it from my chandelier.
And then I basically stood around and looked at it and I couldn't stop smiling because being underneath green, airy eucalyptus leaves is an instant mood changer.
Have you noticed this too?
And then one thing led to another and before I knew it I was cutting flower stems and putting them into a glass vase.
(and deciding that it looked too blah)
But then I remembered this piece of white bark I had leftover from last year that just needed a little trimming.
And voila. It became a cover for my vase.
Wood chargers keep the table more rustic and casual...especially since I have that vintage gold mirror in the room.
I added old brass candlesticks collected from thrift stores.
And if I had more time, I would've added those dark grapes into the centerpiece, because I love that color.
I hung burlap tassels from the dark, green wreath before I placed it over the mirror.
....and here it is, a simple Fall table
If so, don't forget the extra bunch of eucalyptus for your chandelier. I tied mine with the green wire you get in the garden section of the local home improvement store.
I think your guests will love sitting underneath such a sweetly decorated chandelier!

Let me know how it goes.

Simply beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Leslie, I absolutely love it! That pop of orange says it all and the Eucalyptus from the chandelier is a great idea. I have a similar chandelier, can't wait to try it! Happy Weekend! xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Leslie!
ReplyDeleteOkay, now you've done it. I must have some fresh eucalyptus. We have lot's of eucalyptus trees in our neighborhood, but have you ever noticed how how the branches with leaves are? I think it might look conspicuous to drag my ladder on one of my walks and use my clippers to clip my chandelier adornment. :-) Where did you find fresh branches for sale?
ReplyDeleteI'm hosting our Texas family the week of Thanksgiving and we all love to cook so while I'm hosting, I'll have plenty of help in the kitchen. Your table and room look fabulous, you always have the best ideas.

WILL DO!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely, Leslie! I love the look of seeded eucalyptus, and like to dry it in place.
ReplyDeleteThe roses are such a pretty color, too!

ReplyDeletethe wood chargers . . . the plaid blanket on the gorgeous white chairs . . . the table setting . . . the eucalyptus hanging from the chandelier - oh, Leslie you do have great style!
ReplyDeleteYou've got such a way with flowers and greenery, Leslie! I adore your centerpiece and the eucalyptus woven into your chandelier. So pretty in your all white dining room!
ReplyDeleteI'm taking a few moments to catch up with blogs this morning and I'm in awe of all the work you've completed in your home. Your fireplace wall is nothing less than amazing, and the fact that you did most of the work yourself is even more impressive. I love your gallery wall in your dining area off your kitchen, too!
This is sooo pretty. I want to copy your chandelier!!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a happy and lovely table setting. I like clean and pure decorating like that. Our Canadian Thanksgiving is over but now I get to live thru my American friend's holiday. :D Hope you have the nest time with family and friends. Looking forward to the post.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and so tranquil with the addition of that eu-canopy overhead. It would be a treat to be a guest at your table. I am not sure if I am hosting or joining my sister's brood...we are livin dangerously this year! xox
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty Leslie! I feel the same way you do about seeded eucalyptus, and it dries beautifully which makes it even better!!
