found objects for my Christmas door

A few months ago I found this amazing basket in my favorite thrift store and I’d planned on using it for Fall, but I could never find time to do anything with it, so guess what’s on my Christmas door?

Yep. No wreath this year.

I actually couldn’t believe this was only $6.49, because it’s large and has an aged metal “Welcome” sign on it, along with a thick rope attached for hanging. Hmm… very rustic and sweet looking, I thought.

I was in the mood for easy and simple, so I gathered some leftover branches from my garland,

some baby’s breath leftover from this centerpiece

and some faux berries. And I just stuck them all inside. No floral foam. Nothing else. I figured the cold weather would keep it looking fresh for awhile.

I already had this plush, red ribbon that I wrapped on the garland around the door.

And I wrapped lights around a ten foot white birch branch that I had found on a walk with Mr. Moss. He carried it back for me and I was so happy. I love the texture and color of white birch and I wasn’t sure I would like it with lights…

But at night it looks so pretty.

After awhile I decided to add my favorite black and white ribbon to the basket. Along with a red ribbon and a few bulbs.

I just can’t resist red during Christmas.

It doesn’t get much simpler than this does it?

Nothing fancy. But the whole point is feeling welcomed at the front door..

and being greeted by a smile. Ok, I’m smiling.

  Are you ready?

Wow. You’re so good looking when you’re smiling.

Keep it up!

  10. Leslie I love it all! The basket was a great find and looks beautiful with the greenery and ribbon. The birch limb was positively inspired! I love the way it looks. Smart girl for coming up with a natural, simple and very lovely front entry!
