How about this one?
This past weekend, I finally tackled my cluttered office. I’ve been slowly dismantling it over the last several weeks and these photos of white, stream-lined work spaces were my inspiration. What is it about the color white? Lately my eyes have been drawn to pictures like these and I just love this look. I find it pretty and refreshing.
Right now I’m going through this phase where I’m craving simple beauty. And I’m tossing out lots of “things” and keeping only what I love.
What better place to focus on… than the spot I spend so much time in?
First we got rid of the bulky, dark corner unit we no longer needed.
And this weekend Mr. Moss and I began to clear out my small office.
I can’t believe how exciting it feels to completely purge this room and start fresh. Do you ever look at a room and feel this way? In this picture you can see the stacks of paper work that didn’t have a place … and it was really bugging me.
I couldn’t wait to see the white paint on the walls and yes, even the floor. I know some people might frown at painting wood but I love the look, especially when the wood is a inexpensive Home Depot purchase like our floor here.
It was in pretty bad shape.
I had a silver-gray color on my walls which I liked, but I really wanted to go for the drama of white floors and white walls. What do you think? As you can see, I already have white wood on the ceiling.
I know there are various ways to paint a floor. But this is what I did. Because I wanted to avoid sanding the entire floor, I used this deglosser instead. I’ve been told that it works well so I followed the directions, then I applied this primer/sealer.
That’s where I am so far.
Here’s a peek.
And here’s my view from my office this morning. Pure chaos right?
And this is where I’m writing this post. So I guess it’s official. It seems I’ve become a dedicated, slightly crazed blogger.
Yep. That’s me….
Stay tuned friends, I’ll keep you posted!
