Well the good news is that our bathroom renovation is pretty much finished. I just have to finish painting the door.
And this weekend I added some accessories and managed to get some photos to share with you.
Although getting clear photos ended up being way harder than I thought; taking pictures inside a bathroom with all the reflective surfaces and only a tiny window with little natural light apparently takes skill I don’t have.
Hopefully I got a few good ones.
I really do love how this bathroom came out and I can’t wait to show you.
But in the meantime there’s been lots happening around here I haven’t told you about. Since I’m writing this at eleven o’clock at night I’ll just show you a few quick photos.
Here’s what our front yard looks like right now.
Here’s the old, cracked, pool-that-took-up-our-entire-backyard
when it was being drained….
…and here’s what our back yard looked like last Monday,
on Day One of our pool demolition project.
Just a little something I forgot to share.
I’ll keep you posted on our latest project
and tell you more about this entire process. I’m finding it fascinating to watch.
Happy Monday!
xo

Oh I cannot wait to see the full reveal of your bathroom Leslie...LOVED the peeks especially that gorgeous light and the bamboo shelves!! Looking forward to hearing more about whats going on outside too!
ReplyDeleteWow, I had no idea that you had a pool! Or that you were planning to demolish it....and I thought I had big plans!!!
ReplyDeleteThe work on our bathroom just finished today....hoorah! I have been wondering how yours was going :)
It is difficult to take good photos, I so agree. And I too am now thinking about accessories, snap! X
Leslie,
ReplyDeleteI love the accessories for you powder room. It's beautiful. You didn't show us enough! :-) I hear you about trying to photograph a small bathroom. Our guest room only has a skylight (that opens) and its been impossible to get a good image using my trusty point and shoot. Ah well.
How exciting to know that you will enjoy a back yard sometime soon. Enjoy this beautiful weather we're enjoying right now.
xo,
Karen
Whoa!! I can relate to the dirt and overall disruption with these projects Leslie. We've got flooring going in our family room now as so I have lots of dust and displaced furniture .. again! I have gotten used to the disruption and the nose and dust does not bother me like it used to;) Your bathroom is looking great and I like your accessories. Can't wait to see your finished product! Enjoy your week Leslie!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking great, Leslie...I love taking a peek into all your hard work...and now a pool, fabulous...can't wait to see it...all very exciting.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week :)
Your home is morphing before your eyes, Leslie! Lots of exciting projects! It's fun to follow along!
ReplyDeleteOh my great minds think alike. I am going to do a post next week on my almost finished powder room. My shelf is very similar to yours! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteI love what "little" we can see of the bathroom. :) My preference is always white towels & wash cloths for every day use. They can be bleached and that makes me feel they're clean. I do like colors for decorative purposes.
ReplyDeleteYou have quite a challenge with that back yard...oh my! I'm sure it's going to look lovely once it's done and landscaped.
Miss you, my friend! I'm trying to get back into blog land.

Loving what I'm seeing! I know this is a huge project, but obviously you are doing it with love and passion. Are you filling in the old pool? Is that what all that dirt is? ;-)
ReplyDeleteEager to see more......Sarah
This is going to be good. I can feel it! Looking forward to seeing what you're going to post next.

The House of Hampton
Loving the mouthwash idea!!!
ReplyDeleteIt must feel good to be getting rid of something that is taking up so much space. Can't wait to see your new yard, so exciting! Love your bathroom, you did a great job. Patty/NS
ReplyDeletethe bath looks so warm and inviting! what an adventure you are on, and i wonder if we are on a similar one. our house is set to close a month from today (still holding my breath until papers are signed) and we have not found a house to buy. thankfully we have a home to lease, and that may turn out to be a blessing if we find a fixer upper to tweak. thank you for sharing so honestly and generously because i feel joined in my present chaos. peace to you and the projects, friend.
ReplyDeleteAnxious to see the bathroom reveal and the backyard reveal. You are going to be so pleased with your home once this is all done. I am simply dreaming of renovating our bathroom but the dreaming stage is going to take awhile. ;)
ReplyDeleteOhhh, love the sneak peek of your finished bathroom, Leslie!
ReplyDeleteYou've got some major digging going on outside your door!!!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThe bathroom photos turned out well. Thank you for sharing. :-)
I am very excited about the pool project.
We will be having a major project going here as well. Our basement wall on the East side of our house is bowing in and out!! As soon as the frost is out of the ground we will start. Or I should say our contractor will start.
Leslie, the bathroom looks great! I cannot wait to see the whole room.
ReplyDeleteAs for the pool...wow, that looks like quite a project.
Have a great week!
Can't wait to see the final reveal of your bathroom. Renovations are not for the faint of heart! We had pools in our last 2 houses and I wanted to demolish them because they were too much work and no one ever used them. I am your newest follower, Leslie. I'll definitely be back. Have a great weekend, Leslie.
ReplyDeleteWhy am I picturing the house in Breaking Bad when I look at your pool!!! At least your indoor bathroom (not porta pottie) is looking great now. Can't wait to see the full reveal!
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness!
ReplyDeleteThis post just made me feel so good!
You are the queen of letting us all see the light at the end of the tunnel!
I look at all the projects that Mr and I must take on around here and think. "Leslie could do this!" You are awesome and your new bath is showing

Hi Leslie,
ReplyDeleteI love your tray of goodies for the bathroom. Whenever I look at pictures of bathrooms, it is the little things that get my attention. I picture bubble bath, and candles, and lovely nighttime rituals of cleansing my face, and having a wonderful space to do this in. I bet the end result of all your work is stunning. Btw, you seem to write a lot late at night, I admire your energy, woman! xx Nancy
You are truly turning this house into your home! Love seeing the transformation!
